FixQR

Privacy policy

Updated October 21, 2026.

FixQR is a free browser tool for replacing a broken QR code on a flyer. There is no account and no login. This page says what stays on your device and what the site itself records.

What stays on your device

The flyer, a photo from your camera, a center logo, and the text you put in a code are handled in the browser. FixQR does not upload that image or that QR content to its server.

While you work, the browser can save the current project in a local database named fixqr. That save holds the image, the file name, and the QR settings, such as the link, colors, size, and position. It is there so a refresh can bring the flyer back. Leave deletes that save. It also goes away if you clear site data for fixqr.app.

The editor stores a local copy of the files it needs to run, under a cache named fixqr-v4. That copy is the app, not your flyer.

A Wi-Fi password, phone number, email, or contact card that you type is encoded into the QR code on your device. It is not sent to FixQR.

The visit note

The editor page sends one short note to /api/visit.php. The note contains the page path and, if the browser included one, the address of the site that linked you here. The server accepts that note only when it comes from fixqr.app, and it keeps a record only for the homepage.

Each kept record has:

The daily code is a hash of the IP address, the browser’s user agent, a private value stored outside the website, and the date. The raw IP address and the full user agent are not written into the visit log. The code changes the next day. It is not an account, and it is not tied to your name.

Repeat notes from the same browser on the same day are limited. The log keeps at most 8,000 records, and older ones drop off. The log is stored outside the public website files. It is used to see how many people open FixQR. It is not sold.

The privacy, Q&A, and terms pages do not send this note.

What we do not collect

FixQR does not ask for your name, email address, or age. There is no payment. There is no account to profile. The flyer you are fixing is not added to the visit log.

Ads

The editor has spaces marked for ads. Right now those spaces show the word “Ad,” and no advertising script is loaded. If ads are turned on later, the page can load Google’s ad script from pagead2.googlesyndication.com. Google would then handle ad measurement under its own policy, which can include cookies. FixQR still does not send your flyer to an ad network.

Cookies

The public editor does not set a cookie. Opening the private operator page at /admin/ sets an HttpOnly session cookie named fixqr_admin, and only for that page. Visitors using the flyer tool do not get that cookie.

Children

FixQR is a general tool for flyers. It is not directed at children, and it does not ask for a name or a birthday.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change. The Q&A and the terms sit beside it.
